In the old days, comedy teams like The Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, The Three Stooges, Abbott and Costello and even Icons like WC Fields and Charlie Chan were the people that made it fun to go to the movies and to laugh at everyday life. It seems as if Hollywood has abandoned the very character that once made it so great. Old movies like this are like a time capsule to the past. It's almost like a way of preserving our cultural identity. Where has this gone and why don't we see films like this anymore? We've become a nation of lost souls and todays movies have become more for entertainment purposes as oppsoed to giving the viewer a sense of nationalistic and cultural pride. Why has hollywood replaced old-style Americana with high tech imagry? Where is today's Cecil B. Demille? |

Just as an afterthought to my previous post, if you go back and look at some of the old films and movie clips that were done during the "Depression Era", you could get a feel for what life was like back then and how hollywood captured that human strife on film.
Old series like the "Our Gang" that was done by Hal Roach or the "East Side Kids" also known as "The Bowery Boys" were simple, yet highly effective, in giving the audience a grass roots feel of what everyday life was like back then. It showed how people struggled to overcome their own misery and it gave hope for a generation that needed something to hope for. This was how hollywood was effective in keeping us unified and reminded us that, as Americans, we all struggled and sacrificed together. Ironically enough, we may end up heading back into another depression and I wonder if hollywood will be there to lend that helping hand to give people something to hope for like they had done in the past. Old films and Old series from those times are part of our culture and our heritage and we need to pass those on to a new generation who can look to films like that and can find something in them that shows how we struggle and, more importantly, how we overcome. We need to stay close to our roots and remember who we are and what it means to be an American. |

I have a of questions that pertain to one another actually.
#1 Why did you enter the industry? #2 What do you think that you can accomplish; that will ultimately contribute to others well beings? I don't mean directors, other actors studios or charities...I'm talking about the average slightly above minimum wage workers that go to see the movie you made. #3 Do you think it would be at all possible to; before our times up, either ask you to do an interview with one of your co-workers. Anyone, camera man, stage grip, an extra possibly? #4 If they say no; Ask gratuitously,(I completly understand time constraints etc.but would really appreciate the time as well as the fans), would you mind if I asked why not,off the record of course? If yes. I would ask the other more questions about the working of the industry and how they percieve it not in regards or respect to their co-worker, But honestly as a hard working so called little man. I would then follow up with how that made the other feel and what they thought they could do, not to nescesarily, help this individual but the many others that do the same thing? #4 What possible help in the industry could you contribute to this indavidual;and finally what parting advice would you give them?

Don I have a few short questions:
What projects are you working on now? What kind of projects would you like to work on in the future? Are there any projects recently you would liked to have been a part of? Is there one movie above all others you would like to be involved in?

Well, I fucked up once before and posted this question in the Movies forum, so I hope this time I'll get it right:
TROPIC THUNDER is one of the best comedies to come out in years, but the Les Grossman character (played by Tom Cruise) is both funny and scary. Funny because he's meant to be an exaggeration, scary because he's so utterly amoral. Asking someone who also fights on Hollywood's front line, how much of Les Grossman is reality, and how much is caricuture? |

i read the forum rules so long ago,i dont know if we have a name change rule?I wanna know because i do not have my mustang barricade anymore and have recently onbtained a bumblebee 1976 camaro.I would like rumblebee505 if i could as my name now.it helps with getting over barricade loss.If a fan wanted you ,orci, kurtzman to auto graph a glove box cover for their camaro.how would they go about this?we lost our car (barricade)during these economical times here in the u.s.My son took it hard but is still excited about TF2 and our new camaro.since i had no choice in the mustang after my wife lost her job.(lay-offs)we had saved some to purchase this 1976 camaro.my son is excited about the bumblebee. It would mean so much to me for him to have an autograph inside his car.I intend on keeping this one for him since its paid in full and ours.I would pay the shipping to and from.I just wanna autograph.we cant wait for TRANSFORMERS 2 !!!!*ahemn i got excited. Thanks, and thanks for the kind comments about the car barricade we had.it meant so much.

I have one. Do you think movies and tv programs have lost the better part of story telling due to further progress with live effects, stunts, and cgi integration? Also just one for you Don. Would you ever consider getting Angry Films attached to the production of mature cartoons after the relative success that 'G.I. Joe: Resolute' has had?
