Well Don, how old were you when you decided to become a producer?

Did you save up alot of money or did you build that up from earlier investments?

If so, what type of investments did you take up?

Was it smaller films that helped you get yourself out there or were you part of a group of like minded people that saw your "vision"?

I'd say how come so few DVD's have sound design, or music on their extras ?

Lucas and spielburgs stuff it mainly seems cover it - no one else does though - there's precious little on the initially released Matrix DVD's and not a got on Shrek or Shek 2 besides the voice talent stuff.

I really thought there was a big lack of a variety of content on i Robot for example.... o much tedious set visit shoots and not enough variety.

It's a bit more interesting when the set visit stuff is intereleaved with stunt coreogrpahy comments or lighting comments and so on... then it's more interesting.... I'm just plowing through all 35 hours of the Ultimate Matrix DVDboxed set at the mo and that is a real treat for a DVD extras fan like me....

I'm weird I often like the Extras more than the movie. as I find the process more interesting than the end result.

So I'd say what's with the point of shooting all the making of stuff and talking to the cast & crew then not using it all - give us multi disc sets and cover it in extras and lots of comentaries too.

I'd also ask Speilburg how he's going to manage personally when no one makes movies on Film stock any longer. as a cinephile Director ?

Oh and on a teasing note I'd say to george Lucas that I'mn not an idiot and I can tell the difference between his shoddy CGI and a Puppet the 30 year old puppets are one one that look better and don't stand out like a sore thumb - Chuckle.

Why is it that some CGI works and other stuff royally sucks - the next couple of 3 years hould proove interesting to see if people weill still farm out badly lit CGI or if it's just a quirk that some movies have good CGI usage and some others it looks terrible.

How does an aspiring writer break into the industry?

Is there a general summary of the personality type it takes to be an actor? We see most the really big-name actors in the spotlight all the time on TV, in the check-out line at the grocery store, etc. Most the things we hear about them doing are apeshit insane and make us want to stick a finger down our collective throats before taking a dunk in kerosene and lighting ourselves up.

So what's the real story. What's it like WORKING with them. In general, are they responsible on-the-job, and let all the crazy stuff happen where it belongs...in their personal life? Is the media blowing it all out of proportion? Are some of them normal and some of them an absolute nightmare? Just...what is your general summation of working with "actors"

Once a movie bombs, who pays the price? The producer, the director, marketing, a big wig?

How could you become a Hollywood consultant for specific things?

For example,
I'm a Locomotive Engineer/Switchman/Conductor. I see trains in movies/T.V. all the time, and some things they get right, and some things they get wrong.
Now I know in Hollywood, they have like Military Consultants and Martial Art Consultants...etc.

I was just wondering how one could get involved in that field of work.

Peace,
Mexigun

Is the fullfillment of the final product as big of a rush as the process of making the film?

Or, better worded, Which do you prefer, making the film, or seeing it finished.

Some film makers might have projects that never made it through to completion, but were great experiences to try to make.

Don, you've been in the industry for quite some time. Some people are saying there is a bit of a drought when it comes to 'new talent' in the industry (with the exception of a few). Do you think right now is the ultimate time for us who are trying to get in, to make it?

With hollywood i'm always curious about product placement. Is it specific "legal people" who have to pass every name brand that is put on screen. And does the film makers get paid for EVERYthing that is seen? Or everything the lead characters come into interaction with? Just how exactly that works.... It must be a headache having to try and get paid just to have someone drink a coke... is it pretty simple bartering with the people?

Hello,
My question is, why is it people who act and write are looked down on if your not famous yet??
I find it frustrating that someone who has multi talent is labeled one thing or another if you haven't made it yet.
Im a person whose been writing my own projects for years. As you know as a actress you can't really sit around and hope someone will call you.You have to hit the pavement anyway you can to get a break.

I have found great people to work with who are interested in the creative process more then money and have done a few of my independent shorts.
Now when I go to try to get some insider help aside from my industry pals and i get the whole "Don't tell them your a actress" thing..
Why is that??

How come every time you try to make a movie based on a game, you fuck it up by
1: Completly ignoring any story in the game
2: Change everything about it, so apart from the most basic nothing is really left of the game it is based on.
3: The story you replace it whit is often so thin, that the game story is worthy of an oscar compared to that.

either that or i would ask
Why haven´t you made a Warhammer 40k movie yet.

Novel into a Movie?

Have a novel,uprisings..changes for better..not formulized. When completed,
many said it would be good as classic anime. How do you go about, and offer

For those aspiring Hollywooders who want to get rich quick without actually working...

Are there any Uwe Bollish/'The Producers'-ish tax loopholes (or other scams) to take advantage of to ensure profit on intentionally (maybe) failed films in the US? If so, Is there any way to do them without it being considered fraud?
